The team were terrific nothing was a problem.
It was also a treat to meet some Vaddahs Sri Lanka’s indigenous people.

I look forward to staying there next time.

The room had a great shower and super comfortable bed and was quiet and peaceful. What really makes this hotel are the staff who are all genuinely friendly and sociable. Special mention to Dimudh who not only is a great source of cricket conversation but, when my wife commented on how lovely the breakfast fish curry was, promptly reeled off a detailed recipe for us to try at home. Everyone had a smile on their face and could not do enough for you. It was like staying with a group of your best friends rather than being in a hotel!

We went on a Safari and it was a REAL one - Not Touristic at all. We saw many many elephants and it was a wonderful experience.

The meals were buffet style, we had one very windy day where the small heating flames couldn't keep up so the food was all very cold, but it was generally tasty and well cooked. Highly recommend the spicy arrack cocktail!
We also went on the waterfall hike with village visit (shout out to Ushan our guide for this part), and the sunrise boat trip on the reservoir which were both excellent. We had booked the breakfast on the lake but the wind came in for three days and meant we couldn't do it, they were very apologetic and refunded the difference, although we still had the special breakfast in the lake view restaurant.
